What are the biggest lessons you have learned in the corporate world?
I am working from home since past 1.3 year, and also I am working since 1.3 years as well. So here is what I learned working from home:-
- Never ever try to overlap friendship and professional work. Your colleagues can be your friends but try to keep that outside of work.
- Try to be much more secretive and personal with respect to your career decisions. Your resignation/ preparation for something else, etc, all these things should be personal and not to be told. You can probably tell your closest office friends before 2 weeks of your last day but in my opinion it's better to tell them the last day.
- Do not procrastinate, learn something new as no one is your personal secretary, your growth is in your hand. If you waste your time it's your fault.
- Everyone's growth is going to be different, please don't compare yourself with others. Everyone has different ability to learn and perform.
- Never take someone else's work under any circumstances. It would be hard to tell no once you start doing this.
- Be polite and friendly in nature. If you are working from home it's good to turn on cameras in a while, it feels more connected.
- The biggest lesson is to not cheat with the work, it's bread and butter for you, whatever you do, try to give your 100% else you will feel unsatisfied.
